We offer professional development sessions, one to one coaching sessions (both virtual and onsite), small group/team coaching sessions, lesson plan templates, instructional coach training, checklists and more. We also we provide a direct mentoring relationship with new teachers and review lesson plans to identify culturally responsive components, and/or to offer suggestions on how to enhance a lesson towards cultural responsiveness. Cultural Responsiveness

Get itemized suggestions, planners, and templates, e.g. observational checklists to assist facilitators towards implementing and assessing the presence of CRT within their school building and individual classrooms.  We also provide tools to incorporate CRT throughout the entire school, i.e., planning cultural appreciation months, collaborating with community partners inside and outside of the school building, etc.

Classroom Management Techniques

We also provide assistance and tools in the area of classroom management.  CRT involves reshaping and shifting the traditional authoritative style of teaching and learning.  Students are the focal point and are co-constructors of their own environments.  We provide teachers with suggestions and ideas in the following areas:

Self-regulation is the foundation towards fostering and nurturing independent learners.  Through Meichenbaum and Biemiller's (1998) three stages of self-regulation (acquisition, consolidation, and consulting), students are taught metacognitive awareness and how to formulate a plan towards their own learning proficiency.  The teacher simply provides the tools and resources for students as they traverse through each stage.  The teacher also provides verbal and non-verbal scaffolding to support this stage of mindfulness.  Learning is no longer something that happens to our students, but a process they learn to master and manipulate for positive learning outcomes.

Student-Centered Approach

As education should be, students are the most important component to teaching and learning.  Through a CRT foundation, teachers build rapport with students, and  shape their classroom and other learning environments around the individual needs of the student.  Teachers provide vast opportunities for students to co-create and co-manage the learning activities and behavioral standards and outcomes of their classroom. Students are active, not passive, change agents in their school and community as their voices are advocated through specific learning and community ideas and collaborations.
